Marketing and Conference Manager (Sphere Conferences)

We are looking for an energetic and intuitive conference marketing strategist with exceptional marketing and communication skills. Proven ability to identify opportunities and deliver effective strategies to generate results. Experienced in strategic marketing planning, branding, and product development. Adept in online and traditional marketing, and highly skilled in visual communications.

The Marketing and Conference Manager would be responsible for driving the success of the conferences and events under his/her care, as well as drive brand promise in the marketplace, is responsible for marketing and / producing a series of events allocated to them, with the aim to grow them into regional – world class events, and will also oversee the database strategies and to drive overall data initiatives for the events.

He / She will be responsible for planning of the event’s marketing campaign, development and working with the project managers on implementation of the event’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. He/she will oversee development and implementation of support materials and services in the area of marketing, communications and public relations. He/she will direct the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the team. As a producer, he/she will be responsible for creating and managing the agenda, inviting and confirming the speakers and overall drive to deliver the profitability of the events alongside the Project Manager.

This position offers the candidate the opportunity to grow and progress in the highly promising and exciting MICE sector, by giving him/her the opportunity to be exposed to 2 most important functions – conference producing and marketing management.

Primary Relationships:
The position reports to the General Manager, with a co-reporting structure to the respective Project Managers for the events under their care.

This person will:

Establish effective working relationships with sales and marketing partners and agencies to ensure that our products and services are implemented through sales enablement and marketing demand generation programs

Provide feedback into project team on marketing and marketing communications programs and participates in project development; collaborate to create, launch and track performance of project and service offerings in our markets

Develop, establish and maintain marketing strategies to meet project objectives
Demonstrate effective planning of the marketing campaign, budgeting, advertising and promotional activities of the projects.

Execute online and offline marketing initiatives, integrating online and new media, email, print, direct mail, social media, company websites, SEM/SEO strategy development, brand awareness and drip marketing initiatives. The ability to speak to how these channels work together is very important.

Responsibilities:
Marketing Management
Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of: a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the event’s image and position within the marketplace as well as deliver world class, profitable events, and facilitate internal and external communications.

Job Responsibilities:
– Create compelling marketing campaigns using strategies to drive profitability for all projects under his/her care
– Drive and lead campaign management for projects across multiple channels
– Create content for event marketing collateral, website/blog/social media, and other initiatives
– Responsible for creating the events’ press releases and to contribute articles
– Stays abreast of market trends to drive marketing campaigns with project leaders
– Execute marketing campaigns and analyze ROI to drive new client acquisition & sales revenue
– Drive delegates and/ sponsors for their portfolio of events, meet delegate revenue targets set for the projects, create and execute marketing campaigns and propose marketing strategies to ensure success to events and drive marketing strategies to achieve ROI for events
– Overall responsible for data building and management of event’s database
– Plan and budget for marketing / tele-marketing campaigns based on the marketing budget given, and achieve marketing ROI targets set
